How electric forklifts improve productivity
Revolution or evolution? Is electrification really a transformation or is it just “marketing hype” promoted by the battery industry and management consulting firms? We want to help you and your business to make better choices for the environment, without compromising performance. Here, we give you the opportunity to save money and save the environment at the same time by using less fossil fuels – everyone comes out happier. Small things can make a huge difference.
One of the main reasons you might choose electric forklifts is your desire to reduce your carbon footprint due to fossil fuel emissions. An electric forklift with a lithium-ion battery uses zero fossil fuel, produces zero fumes and emits zero emissions from its tailpipe into the atmosphere, and can therefore be an integral part of your company's sustainability goals. But while electric forklifts can be a valuable tool in helping you reduce your environmental impact, do they have any other benefits?
Absolutely. In particular, electric forklifts with lithium-ion batteries can improve your productivity.
Less service equals more uptime and reduced cost
Your diesel forklift has a complex driveline. Its engine and transmission need to be serviced, its oils and filters need to be replaced. As you know, the maintenance of your diesel forklifts takes them out of production on a regular basis, costing you time and money.
On the other hand, an electric forklift is relatively simple compared to the diesel version, resulting in much greater uptime and productivity.
An electric forklift with a lithium-ion battery avoids time-consuming battery changes and increases availability compared to forklifts using a lead-acid battery. In addition, changing batteries every day and keeping them in good condition takes a significant amount of work. Lithiium-ion batteries are almost maintenance-free.
To fast recharge an empty lithium-ion battery back to full charge takes approximately 45 minutes. This process is completely automated once the power cord is in. Charging usually takes place when the operator is on a break or after normal working hours, so it does not affect productivity.
